I love that review. I feel as though i attended the event. good balance of social and emotional implications of the piece. divorce does seem such a social failure, especially for woman who have been historically situated as gatekeepers to happy marriage. did her ex participate as representative of the male counterpart to the ununion? Was this a distinctly female reading on the performer's part? I'm thinking the bridesmaids and the bride and then, the peripheral male groom. So interesting to think of the act of divorce as quiet yet communal.
